Tablature
How to do it
- Form the power chord: finger 1 on the root and finger 3 (or 3 and 4) on the fifth and octave, as in the TAB.
- Play only those three strings; mute the rest with your hand.
- Change between G5, C5 and D5 keeping the same shape and sliding it along the neck.
Variations
- Chain other progressions: E5-A5-D5, A5-D5-E5.
- Add palm muting and downstrokes for a punchier rock sound.
Tips
- For a punchier sound, rest the edge of your picking hand near the bridge (palm mute) and use downstrokes.
