Right-hand fingering

How to do it

  1. Play the C major scale: right hand legato, left hand staccato.
  2. Then swap: right staccato, left legato.
  3. Go very slow: the brain needs time to separate the two feelings.

Variations

  • Apply it to arpeggios instead of scales.
  • Add dynamics: one hand loud and the other soft (then swap).

Tips

  • If it is hard, practise just a few notes, not the whole scale.
